QUEENSHIP OF MARY

Since Jesus is King of Heaven and Earth, we understand that His Mother is our Queen. We also recognize her critical role in salvation history and her unique and ongoing intercession for us. Originally celebrated on May 31, the feast date was changed in 1969 by Pope Pius VI as an Octave from the Assumption (August 15).

Did you know?

According to Davidic tradition, the mother of the King of Israel was declared the Queen of Israel.

A family tradition...

If you have a statue of Mary at home, or a print on the wall, place a crown of roses on her head, or a vase of roses close by, on this day.
