SAINT BARTHOLOMEW, APOSTLE

c. 1st century

St. Bartholomew is identified as the "sixth apostle" called by Jesus (in three Gospels; he is called the "seventh apostle" in Acts). Not much is known of this saint, but legend holds that he was skinned alive

Did you know?

St. Philip introduced St. Bartholomew to Jesus.
Because of the manner of his death, he is also the patron saint of tanners
(those who work with leather).

A family tradition...

To be an apostle means to be "sent." To be a disciple means to be a "follower."

Where in your life do you feel God might be calling you to follow Him,

and to go forth to introduce others to Jesus?
