HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS

This feast was placed in the General Roman Calendar in 1607 by Pope Paul V and gained increasing liturgical importance by subsequent popes.

Did you know?

The concept of the guardian angel is scriptural: "“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father" (Matthew 18:10).
The "angel of the Lord" described throughout the Old Testament is Jesus prefigured.
